Abstract

This case illustrates the clinical and pathological features of Tinea mgra. Awareness of the characteristic features of this cutaneous infection, especially in areas where the organism is endemic, can ultimately lead clinicians to the appropriate diagnosis. If Tinea nigra should be considered in the differential diagnosis of palmoplantar pigmentation, potassium hydroxide (KOH) preparation may facilitate the diagnosis.
