Abstract

A numerical method for solving the second boundary value problem of elasticity for solids with cracks is developed. The method is based on a class of Gaussian approximating functions that drastically simplify the construction of the matrix of the linear algebraic system of the discretized problem. The results of the application of the method to 2D-problems of elasticity are compared with exact and numerical solutions existing in the literature
