Abstract

Gene therapy tailored for use in brain tumours has shown reasonable efficacy in preliminary clinical trials. Researchers are excited at the prospects of further developing this treatment, particularly in view of the good safety profile associated with this novel method in both animal and human studies. The results of the first clinical trial were presented at the 10th International Conference on Brain Tumour Research and Therapy held in Stalheim, Norway, in September.
