Abstract

The increase in popularization of Internet resources brings changes and challenges to the traditional approaches for education in technology related disciplines. This paper presents different Internet services that have been used in order to make the students in a Biomedical Engineering Technology program gain experience in the correct use of their computing resources and gain insight into their future professions. Students are exposed to a variety of situations carefully designed to improve their critical thinking abilities, increase their exposure to different medical equipment and interact with Clinical Engineering professionals. However, although the Internet is a very powerful resource, its use in Engineering Education may bring new problems and challenges that need to be thoughtfully considered.
