Abstract

Experimental results are reported for the numerical quantities of the different shapes of human chin where, to the best of the author’s knowledge, this approach has never been applied. The results are based on 3143 pictures of chins taken from the Internet of which 1328 were of women and 1815 of men. The author has succeeded to classify all the chins into 3 shapes: the cleft chin for men only, 2.23% of the total; the double chin, 15.69% = 14.0% + 1.69%; and the normal chin, 82.09% = 41.52% + 40.57%, where the first number is for men and the second for women.
