Abstract

Objective:

The population of patients with type 2 diabetes who seek treatment at Internal Medicine Policlinic or treated at the Internal Medicine RSMH Palembang.

Design and Method:

Descriptive study, conducted in Internal Medicine Departement and Clinical Pathology Laboratory of Medical Faculty of UNSRI / RSMH Palembang from March 2014–March 2015.

Results:

The mean duration of diabetes mellitus (years): normoalbuminuria 6.57 ± 4.09, 5.98 ± 3.20 microalbuminuria, macroalbuminuria 7.98 ± 3.81, (p = 0.05). The mean age of subjects (years): normoalbuminuria 54.03 ± 4.89, 52.60 ± 9.19 microalbuminuria, macroalbuminuria 53.67 ± 9.89, (p = 0.73). Average body weight (kg): normoalbuminuria 55.78 ± 5.96, 51.90 ± 6.74 microalbuminuria, makroalbuminuria 53.8 ± 8.28, (p = 0.05). The mean BMI index (kg / m2) group normo, micro and macroalbuminuria: 21.86 ± 1.65; 21.28 ± 1.43; 21.53 ± 2.33, (p = 0.37). The mean systolic BP (mmHg) macroalbuminuria 137.50 ± 15.48, significantly higher (p = 0.01) of normoalbuminuria 126.27 ± 24.01 and 135.75 ± 11.07 microalbuminuria. The mean diastolic BP (mmHg) makroalbuminuria 85.75 ± 9.03, higher than normoalbuminuria microalbuminuria 81.75 ± 8.13 and 83.25 ± 7.64, (p = 0.9). The mean Hb (g / dl) normoalbuminuria 12.95 ± 1.24, significantly higher (p = 0.03) compared to 12.35 ± 0.84 microalbuminuria and macroalbuminuria (12.54 ± 0.97). The mean fasting blood glucose level (mg / dl) normoalbuminuria 161.58 ± 73.00, 166.92 ± 71.76 microalbuminuria, and macroalbuminuria 182.28 ± 87.51, (p = 0.47). The mean levels of GDPP (mg / dl) normoalbuminuria 236.50 ± 86.98, 232.40 ± 85.04 microalbuminuria, and macroalbuminuria 249.37 ± 102.09, (p = 0.69). Normoalbuminuria mean HbA1C levels of 7.86 ± 1.94, 8.91 ± 2.11 microalbuminuria, and macroalbuminuria 8.76 ± 2.34, (p = 0.06). The mean urea levels (mg / dl) normoalbuminuria 28.75 ± 8.09, lower than microalbuminuria and macroalbuminuria 31.58 ± 11.34 33.20 ± 12.42 mg / dl (p = 0.18). The mean levels of creatinine (mg / dl) microalbuminuria, macroalbuminuria 0.73 ± 0.19 and 0.92 ± 0.18, significantly higher than normoalbuminuria 0.64 ± 0.11 (p = 0.00).

Conclusions:

There is no significant difference in the characteristics of albuminuria in diabetes mellitus duration, subject age, weight, BMI index, diastolic BP, BSN, BSPP, HbA1C, and urea. There are significant differences in the characteristics of albuminuria in Hb level normoalbuminuria groups to micro and macroalbuminuria, systolic BP in normo and microalbuminuria to macroalbuminuria, and creatinine levels in normoalbuminuria to micro and macroalbuminuria.
