Abstract

Summary

Three-dimensional CT imaging of the infant hip is a new method of coxometry. The challenge is to avoid any unnecessary radiation and to assess as well as possible the three-dimensional anatomy of the growing hip. The images on the console give several standardized views—coronal, axial, or lateral. The reproducibility of the measures is notably improved using this method. Any measurement is taken at the same plane and in the same orientation for each pelvis. The assessment of the weight-bearing dome is made much easier with the surface three-dimensional reconstruction of the infant hip.
