Abstract

Criticizes the use of partial correlation and multiple regression by R. L. Moreland and R. B. Zajonc (see record 1980–29324–001) to argue for 2 independent effects of stimulus exposure on liking. It is shown that the small residuals from the present authors' 1-mediator model may be due to shared nonlinearity (correlated errors) in 3 of the dependent variables.
