Abstract

This special issue of the Journal for Theoretical and Philosophical Psychology explores the ecology of care and themes of relationality, suffering, and autonomous agency that arise in the broad contexts of health and healing. The 4 papers presented in the special issue address a range of diverse theoretical perspectives that may help to inform and promote dialogue about both theoretical and practical concerns shaping approaches to care in psychology and the caring professions. A concluding commentary on the papers offers an insightful critique, highlighting the deep questions that will continue to demand thoughtful reflection about our humanity in the quest for attainment of health.
