Statistical optimization of correlation devices used to measure the coordinates of objects in digital images

Abstract

A procedure of statistical synthesis of the threshold parameters of the affinity function of correlation devices used to measure the coordinates of objects in digital images where these parameters are optimal in terms of the criterion of an ideal observer is proposed. Results are presented from studies of a previously synthesized measuring device and of a well-known measuring device that demonstrate the advantages of the former.
