Abstract

In the past decade of organizational redesign and reengineering, in the land of continuous quality improvement, many of us have grown up on the Senge model. We live and breathe Senge's principles of the "fifth discipline." We know that important strategic changes cannot occur overnight. We know that one cannot change an organization without changing its culture, without engaging the vast majority of its participants. We have learned about the "deep learning cycle" from Senge's work and understand that attitudes and beliefs must change in order for the activity changes to be sustained.
