Abstract

A new publication finds that varicocele repair might improve semen quality enough to enable couples who are awaiting in vitro fertilization or intrauterine insemination to attempt natural conception or less-invasive assisted reproductive techniques. The approach is interesting because it seeks to establish varicocele treatment as one step in a multimodal path to parenthood.Refers to Samplaski, M. K. et al. Varicocelectomy to “upgrade” semen quality to allow couples to use less invasive forms of assisted reproductive technology. Fertil. Steril.108, 609-612 (2017)
