Executive SummaryFor years, claims have been made of a relationship between the health of the work environment and nurse retention.On January 26, 2005 in Washington, DC, the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses held a national briefing on health care workplace communication, and released their Standards for Establishing and Sustaining Healthy Work Environments.All organizations are challenged to implement the standards and improve retention, and more importantly, patient safety.
