The RCN commissioned a snapshot survey to look at the impact of nurse shortages on patient care.This was in response to the worst nurse shortage crisis in the NHS for 25 years. It appears that more patients are being treated by fewer registered nurses, but for the first time it also shows the impact of shortages and increased workload on the quality of patient care.
