Editors' note: Because nutrition is a truly global issue and central to concerns regarding the health and well-being of children throughout the world, UNICEF has made it the main focus of its 1998 State of the World's Children report. The report discusses in detail the prevalence and causes of worldwide child malnutrition, the actions of local and global organizations, including UNICEF, in addressing this problem, and recommendations for the future.
