Rapid response systems were developed to react quickly to the specific symptoms that commonly occur before cardiopulmonary arrest in hospitals. However, response systems for obstetric patients are less well established. In this article, the authors described the implementation of an obstetric emergency team (OBET) response system that uses a unique communication system, response team composition, and interprofessional leadership support to better respond to obstetric emergencies.
