A robust, nonpunitive culture of safety is thus needed to encourage reporting and investigation of adverse events and systems. In addition, a comprehensive strategy to maximize obstetric safety is imperative. Thus, in this study, a multidisciplinary group of authors reviewed simulation and team communication as obstetric patient safety tools to help develop a comprehensive approach to minimizing preventable harm in obstetric patients.
