Aim of special sessionThis session is expected to be interactive, providing the attendees with both an understanding of the social and physical harm than may come with working shifts, and an evaluation of different countermeasures developed to help ameliorate these problems. The question and answer portion is meant to be both ‘ask the expert’ for those just entering this area of occupational health, and an interchange among the research delivery communities on what else may or may not help and why.1Frida Marina Fischer, 2Orna Tzischinsky, 3Tamar Schochat, 4Lucia Rotenberg, 5Kazutaka Kogi, 6Stephen Popkin1Dept Environmental Health, School of Public Health, University of São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil2Emek Yezreel College, Emek Yezreel, Israel3University of Haifa, Haifa, Israel4Laboratory of Health and Environmental Education, Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil5Ohara Memorial Institute for Science of Labour, Japan6U.S. Department of Transportation, Volpe Centre, Cambridge, USA
