Abstract

(Abstracted from Am J Obstet Gynecol 2017;216(6):557–567)

A national survey found that more than 70% of postsurgical patients experience moderate to extreme pain after discharge, and nearly 28% of these have severe to extreme pain. A minimally invasive hysterectomy is typically associated with less postoperative pain than a laparotomy approach.
