Abstract

(Abstracted from J Matern Fetal Neonatal Med 2017;30(19):2378–2381)

Shoulder dystocia in vaginal deliveries can result in neonatal brachial plexus palsy (NBPP), requiring multiple surgical interventions and resulting in severe long-term disability. Sonographic predictors of shoulder dystocia are of particular interest in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) as GDM increases the risk of shoulder dystocia.
