Abstract

This article, the second in a two-part series on selection of antimicrobials for treatment of osteomyelitis, focuses on the penetration of the newer classes of antimicrobials into bone, and briefly reviews the role of chronic suppressive antimicrobial therapy in the treatment of bone infections.
