Abstract

The purpose of the current report is to inform the membership and the executive committee of Division 10 of the American Psychological Association (APA) about results of a spring 2002 survey and about related follow-up activities. The membership of Division 10 was surveyed by the PAIR (Promoting Applications Integration with Research) task force in order to assess interests in the Division and professional commitments of Division 10 members. More than half of member survey respondents reported primary job commitments in academe, but more than half also reported professional time spent in clinical practice. Some of the most frequently cited interests of Division 10 member respondents are creativity, fine arts, performing arts, and aesthetics. Results indicate that one's primary career commitments do not necessarily correlate with a specific interest in Division 10, but, instead, seem related to a broad set of interests across the arts, aesthetics, creativity, intelligence, art therapy, and more.
