Abstract

This article discusses a stressful event that occurred in a community hospital emergency room. It depicts the emotional trauma that occurred with the associated nurses, the history of work stress for nurses exposed to emotional trauma, and the process of critical incident debriefing, along with other modalities, as a model of treatment to support staff healing following a critical incident.
