Abstract

Margretta Madden Styles, EdD, RN, FAAN (1930–2005), was widely respected for her leadership, vision, and tireless commitment to nursing in the United States and internationally. A past president of the American Nurses Association, the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and the International Council of Nurses, her contributions to advancing quality nursing care throughout the world have profound relevance to the issues discussed throughout the Think Tank on Global Nurse Migration, many of whose participants had known and worked with Gretta at various points of her career. Thus, we invited Dr. Lucille Joel, president of the CGFNS Board of Trustees, to provide these words in Gretta's memory.
