Abstract

Postoperative management after the reconstruction of microtia is most important, as deformity due to edema and scarring sometimes occurs.1-6 Up until now, we have not been able to do anything to easily maintain or create a definite contour in the ear after surgery.1-10 We describe a quick and easily fabricated thermoplastic splint that can be applied directly to the contours of the newly reconstructed ear by maintaining a mild compression on the surface of the ear.
