Abstract

Suggests guidelines for developing evaluative procedures to fit the needs and constraints of specific treatment settings. The orientation is practical, recognizing that clients and professionals alike must carefully attend to cost-benefit factors. It is felt that psychotherapists can move beyond their current impressionistic, global evaluations and develop procedures with greater value for corrective feedback and communication to both lay and professional audiences.
