Abstract

Psychologists elected to legislative office have tended to specialize in health care issues, bringing the profession's unique perspective to better inform debates. Following the 2006 elections, their numbers will fall to 3 in Congress and 14 in state legislatures. This loss, however, is overshadowed by the election of psychologist Ted Strickland as governor of Ohio.
