Abstract

Originally published in Contemporary Psychology: APA Review of Books, 1978, Vol 23(10), 784. Reviews the book, Adolescence: Transition from childhood to maturity. 2nd ed by B. Geraldine Lambert, Barbara F. Rothschild, Richard Altland, and Laurence B. Green (see record 1979-20835-000). This second edition of a text first published in 1972 is intended for undergraduates in education, home economics, and sociology as well as psychology. The authors say that they have tried to avoid duplicating materials usually found in introductory psychology or education courses. The 12 chapters include a definitional introduction followed by chapters on the influence of the family on adolescent development, social development, physical growth and development, sexual behavior, the normal development of emotionality, and adolescent development of morals and values (new in this edition).
