Abstract

Originally published in Contemporary Psychology: APA Review of Books, 1979, Vol 24(1), 83. Reviews the book, Infants and children: Their development and learning by Mildred C. Robeck (see record 1979-23210-000). This new entry into the developmental text field is organized into four parts. The first discusses the significance of the early years, genetic origins, and reproduction. Part 2 deals with growth patterns. A biological concern is strongly evident in Part 3. Part 4 focuses on the responsibilities of adults and societies at large in maximizing the potential for growth of each individual child. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)
