Abstract

Originally published in Contemporary Psychology: APA Review of Books, 1979, Vol 24(5), 437. Reviews the book, Reading about psychology and you edited by Margaret B. Matthaei (see record 1980-04092-000). The first section of this book talks directly to student readers about the remaining sections, the issues they'll deal with, and some of the broader issues of life and psychology. The remaining 14 sections follow a very precise pattern. There are few illustrations, but a full set of references for each article. The total package involves interesting readings drawn from a variety of sources, limited only by being tied exactly to the chapter order of one introductory psychology text.
