Originally published in Contemporary Psychology: APA Review of Books, 1979, Vol 24(6), 522–523. Reviews the book, Action Language in Junior High School Groups by George F. Castore (see record 1979-04835-000). The purpose of this book is to present a type of group therapy for junior high school students that apparently has evolved from many years of experience by the author. The book is not without limitations. If readers expect to learn how to conduct an action-language group, they will be disappointed. I also had difficulty with the definitions of many concepts. For the reader interested in those of junior-high-school age, this book will provide some insights into the problems that arise in this age group as well as a humanistic orientation for viewing such students.
