Abstract

Originally published in Contemporary Psychology: APA Review of Books, 1979, Vol 24(7), 600. Reviews the book, Until we are six: Toward the actualization of our children's human potential by Gary E. Stollak (1978). This slender book is intended for parents and caregivers, but is oriented around positive health rather than dealing with crises. The author attempts to provide both a theoretical and an empirical basis for his suggestions. It is more coherent than most parenting manuals, and does provide a framework against which to judge many of one's parenting practices. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)
