Abstract

Originally published in Contemporary Psychology: APA Review of Books, 1979, Vol 24(8), 670. A. Leon Pines responds to Elanna S. Yalow's reply (see record 2006-06573-092) to comments by Pines (see record 2006-06573-091) on Yalow's review (see record 2006-06389-019) of the book, Educational Psychology: A Cognitive View, 2nd ed by David P. Ausubel, Joseph D. Novak, and Helen Hanesian (1978). Pines states that Ausubel's theory has flaws (unrecognized by Yalow), yet no other text deals as adequately with meaningful concept learning.
