Originally published in Contemporary Psychology: APA Review of Books, 1979, Vol 24(9), 692–693. Reviews the book, Information Processing in Motor Control and Learning edited by George E. Stelmach (1978). This is an excellent presentation of some of the major theoretical and empirical realizations of this revived curiosity. The physiological substrates of motor performance are by no means ignored in this new volume. Many chapters that have already been mentioned refer to physiological studies. Several theoretical chapters are also provided. On the whole, however, author's new collection is a superb source book for students of motor control and for psychologists whose curiosity about-how we move has yet to be translated into action.
