Originally published in Contemporary Psychology: APA Review of Books, 1998, Vol 43(4), 284-286. The reviewer states that “Advances in Clinical Child Psychology, Vol. 19” is broad in scope and contains innovative ideas and indispensable information for professionals from a variety of disciplines whose work is related to service provision with, and research on, children. The present volume includes several thorough, organized, and well-documented chapters. This book continues a worthy series which considers advances in applied child psychology that apply to a wide range of disciplines that work with, and conduct research upon, children. Certainly, the strengths of this volume outweigh any weaknesses, and the interested scientist, practitioner, or combination thereof, would probably benefit from access to this material.
