Abstract

Originally published in Contemporary Psychology: APA Review of Books, 1998, Vol 43(11), 767-768. Melissa A. Hardy has done the field a great service in presenting a well-conceived and well-edited book (see record 1997-36307-000) that presents strategies for thinking about and studying the connections between intraindividual and societal change. The book will be a welcome addition for instructors of graduate-level courses in research design, as well as an excellent and stimulating addition to the professional bookshelf. The argument for research that blurs the distinction between intraindividual and societal change is a compelling one, and the clear articulation of the methodology to address it is welcome indeed.
