Abstract

Reviews the book, Broken Glass: A Family's Journey Through Mental Illness by Robert V. Hine (see record 2006-10039-000). This book, by Hine, is another book about mental illness in a family. This is a book that can be read with interest by psychologists who are for the first time encountering patients who have schizophrenia or other severe and persistent mental illnesses. It is also a book for psychologists who have had much experience with families and mental illness. What they will see is the continuing problem of making a diagnosis and proceeding to treatment. Of course, people who are involved, as is the author, Hine, with the problems of dealing with mental illness as a family member will be entranced.
