Abstract

This study assessed the needs, perceptions, and experiences of consumers and family members as Phase One of the development of a statewide supported education program. The results indicate that a statewide initiative should focus on 1) the development of career services, 2) the role parents’ perceptions of and consumers’ experiences with, higher education play in attendance, and 3) the non-cognitive factors that influence consumer decision making.
