Abstract

Patient behavior which affects the response to rehabilitation is equated with “cooperativeness.” The three scales reported in this study permit the quantification of patient behaviors which are related to cooperativeness. Each of the “behavioral descriptors” was contributed by a person professionally associated with a rehabilitation program. The scale value of each item was determined by the technique developed by Thurstone. Each scale consists of 30 items which depict some aspect of cooperative-uncooperative behavior.
