Abstract

ObjectiveTo explore the relationship between employment/disability and selected demographic, biological, and functionality variables for people living with HIV/AIDS.Study DesignCross-sectional, correlational analysis.SettingOutpatient HIV/AIDS immunosupression clinic.Main Outcome MeasureParticipant employment and disability status.ResultsResults of a forced-entry hierarchical logistic regression analysis indicated that race, age, CD-4, and measures of mental and physical functionality significantly predicted employment/disability among study participants.ConclusionsDemographic, biological, and functionality variables represent important predictors of employment and disability among people living with HIV/AIDS.
