This is a brief account of the treatment of depression using poetry therapy as the modality. The patient was a professional man, 42 years of age. Ten treatment sessions are synthesized in this study which follows the epiphany of the self. The therapeutic use of the patient's own poems as well as the poems of established poets is explained. At the end of the ten sessions the patient declared that he no longer experienced the depression and that he had gotten from therapy what he came for. The treatment was therefore discontinued.
