Eight years of growth and change in UK molecular radiotherapy with implications for the future: Internal Dosimetry Users Group survey results from 2007 to 2015

Recently, the Internal Dosimetry Users Group presented survey results that demonstrated steady overall growth in molecular radiotherapy (MRT) use in oncology, with a 40% growth in treatment numbers, in 25 UK centres from 2007 to 2012 1. We have since extended this survey to 2015 and added five new centres. We present data on patient numbers in MRT from 30 UK centres from 2007, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015, covering a period of 8 years. Overall we have seen an increase in the number of patients treated (+66%) and treatments given (+179%) with almost three times as many treatments being carried out in 2015 than in 2007, as shown in Fig. 1.
