To the Editor:
Amyloidosis is a rare disease caused by depositions of abnormal amyloid protein in organs. The secondary form (AA) occurs in association with chronic infections or inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. The association with gouty arthritis is rare.1–8 The present case report describes a 57-year-old man with renal amyloidosis secondary to gout.
