Increasing evidence suggests that insulin dysregulation and diabetes might contribute to the development of Parkinson's disease (PD) by shared molecular pathways.1 However, this potential association remains controversial from an epidemiological perspective. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between PD and diabetes in the baseline assessment of the Neurological Disorders in Central Spain (NEDICES) study and evaluate the potential role of diabetes duration in that association.
