Quality research in nursing education is vital to establish best practices in teaching and learning and provide the scientific basis for the practice of nursing education. “Nursing education research focuses on how students learn the professional practice and discipline of nursing as well as how to improve educational strategies to prepare clinicians and scientists.”1(p2) Multiple national and professional organizations, including the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists, set research agendas to encourage studies in priority areas.2 The National League for Nursing (NLN) sets research priorities for nursing education. The purpose of this column is to review the most current NLN nursing education research priorities and see how they can direct research for clinical nurse specialist (CNS) education.
