Excerpt

In the years since the Journal’s previous Current Concepts article on ankle arthroscopy, by Ferkel and Scranton in 19931, some of the indications, concepts, and techniques of the procedure have evolved. This review focuses only on arthroscopy for intra-articular ankle joint pathology. Detailed discussion of other procedures, such as subtalar and first metatarsophalangeal joint arthroscopy, tendoscopy, or hindfoot endoscopy, are beyond the scope of this review.
