Aripiprazole is a second-generation antipsychotic structurally related to quinolones. It is a partial dopamine receptor D2 and 5 hydroxytryptamine receptor 5-HT1A agonist and 5-HT2A antagonist. It is primarily used for treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and treatment resistant depression.
