Changes in life are inevitable and medicine is no different. Obstetrics continues to rapidly change; however, the future of obstetrics is very interesting.
But as Benjamin Franklin said “If you are finished changing, you are finished.”
Therefore, we as a specialty need to have some idea as to what the future holds. This edition of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology explores many facets of that change and the future of obstetrics from clinical aspects such as the rapidly evolving area of genetics to complex new physician payment models. After reading this symposium, I am certain you will have a much better understanding of the future of obstetrics.
