To the Editor:
The study titled “The Quantitative Measurements of Vascular Density and Flow Area of Optic Nerve Head Using Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography” by Bazvand and colleagues, does not establish a normative database, nor does it provide any reliable information for further studies, for the following reasons:
In conclusion, due to the methodology of using optic disc morphology as seen with a 90 D lens to diagnose or exclude participants, data processing (not removing the large vessels from VD measures), low number of participants, and selection bias (exclusion of refractive errors outside the stated range of ±3 D), this study does not really provide a normative database.
