Abstract

Nonmalignant incidental findings in patients undergoing 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) PET/CT for oncological indication are common. Here, we present such a case of a 40-year-old woman, treated case of adenoid cystic carcinoma of the left parotid gland, who subsequently presented with progressive back pain and deranged liver function tests. 18F-FDG PET/CT showed no definite malignancy but incidental finding of moderately severe acute pancreatitis, which was the cause of back pain.
